Projected seed: 10

Indiana State's body of work is impressive; with a strong overall showing, they come into the tournament as a team that can't be taken lightly. Despite a couple of stumbles in conference play against Illinois St and Southern Illinois, the Sycamores showcased their ability to bounce back, highlighted by a commanding performance in their conference championship run. Their offense is a high-octane machine, a credit to their efficient and up-tempo style. The big concern I have is their softer defensive metrics; this is an area opponents will look to exploit. Their victory over Drake stands out as a testament to their capability to overpower quality opponents, while most of their losses have come against solid teams, notably Michigan St, Alabama, and twice to Drake before besting them in the conference finals. What holds them back from a higher seed, however, are these defensive shortcomings and the lack of high-profile, quality wins, with the bulk of their victories coming against the lower half of the college basketball hierarchy.
